In-Process Inspector

SUMMARY

Inspects powdered metal parts for dimensional accuracy and surface defects by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• In-process inspections.
• Lot inspection as needed.
• 1st article inspection as required by customer and/or internal requirements.
• Measures dimensions as part.
• Examines part for defects such as cracks, chip out and other visual defects.
• Separates and marks defective part according to rework operation required.
• Capability studies as needed.
• Gauge calibration as needed.
• Blueprint interpretation and consultation with personnel to assure quality of part.

Qualifications: 

• Experience as an in-process inspector required.
• Must be able to accurately measure parts, read and understand blueprints, use various inspection equipment and instruments and operate a micrometer.  Must be extremely precise with measurements up to four (4) decimal points.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
